From October 4th 2001 until the end of 2003, without possessing any vehicles of our own, we gave service of transportation to Rocio Chávez (see her story in the link Families Before). Each Monday, Wednesday and Friday (at a minimun), we would look for help from potentials volunteers who do own vehicles, so we could pick up Rocio Chávez at home each morning, take her to therapy sessions or where ever she would need to go, and afterwards bring her back home in the afternoon. For a period of time of 26 months, Rocio Chávez had more than 400 appointments and only 3 times we couldn't help her, therefore it is fair to say that our strong commitment probably saved her life. On november 5th 2003, still with no vehicles of our own we were giving services of transportations to 3 others families, and that day god gave us a beautiful gift when Mr. Michael Cozakas found out about us. Living in California but on vacation in Puerto Vallarta, Mr. Cozakas with very little information from us, made the generous offer to buy us a used van.
On december 9th 2003 Robin Bouchard flew to California (all expensises paid by Mr. Cozakas) to pick up a big white van, and a few days later drove back to Puerto Vallarta with more than enough money for the cost of the trip.Mr. Jim Gilfillan a longtime friend of Mr. Cozakas was also involved in the purchase of the white van , and many others friends of them made possible that beautiful human experience. Now many hotels like Villa del Palmar , Rancho Banderas, Sheraton, Playa del Sol, Velas Vallarta and the company Vallarta Adventure are sponsoring the very high cost of fuel and also the maintenance of the white van. Because of all these generous people , we give service of transportation to 12 families, Our human chain of love and hope is getting bigger.
